This project started when Jan Berger was listening to his first recording from 1959. From this recording he picked two blues improvisations, mixed it with Arild Andersen on bass and Jan's own version of "Blues In The Closet" - wonderful!

While working on this project, looking for old "pearls" from the period at NRK he himself got surpised seeing all the radio shows etc he'd participated in. A warm "Thank You" to the bass player Erik Amundsen, whom Berger says has meant a lot to him as a musician! BUT last, but not the least; If it hadn't been for Amundsen who recorded it all, almost every radio show from 1963 to1992, all this wonderful music would have gone missing.

”EGO TRIP” is not a solo-ego trip. Here you'll find guest musicians among the finest there is in Norway:

Erik Amundsen, Arild Andersen, Odd Børretzen, Laila Dalseth, Ditlef Eckhoff, Helge Hurum, Egil Kapstad, Karin Krog, Erling Wicklund.

Jans collaboration with Arild Andersen ought to be mentioned. Why? Because finding someone to replace Erik Amundsen was a good enough reason for Jan Berger to start wondering if he should just forget the whole project. BUT Arild said yes and the project became reality.

The result; Yes, it's really something to look foreward to!!!!J
